Colorado State Patrol responded to a serious injury crash Friday evening after a semi truck and a Chevy pickup collided near Walsenburg on Highway 160.

The weather conditions and speed appear to have caused the crash. At the time of the accident, wind caused blowing snow and reduced visibility.

The driver of the semi truck did not sustain any serious injuries but the driver of the pickup, 61 year-old Dale Brumfield from Colorado Springs sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
