Bronze stars go out to 2 soldiers at Fort Carson.
Two members of the 113th Medical Company earned the honor. The 113 helps soldiers in Iraq deal with the stress of combat. The unit's commander and first sergeant both receive the awards.
Irma Cooper is one of the recipients. She says she was just upholding her responsibilities.
"My job is to take care of those soldiers and be very supportive to the
commanders. My job is to give that treatment right there close to the front line to keep those soldiers mentally fit to do their job."
The 113th Medical Company is stationed in Stanton, California.
