The Peace and Justice Coalition wants an apology from officers, they say, used unnecessary force at this month's Saint Patrick's day parade.
Seven peace advocates were asked to leave the parade and when they didn't, they were arrested.
Mayor Lionel Rivera says he wants to wait until the police department's internal investigation is complete before taking sides.
Peace advocates say they did not deserve to be handled so brutally.
Peace protesters say, not only were members dragged across concrete, they were tazed too.
There are mixed reports, however, on whether such force was used.
Mayor Rivera says this year's parade will forever be fixed in the minds of everyone.
"The Saint Patrick's day parade is going to be one that we all remember but not for the right reasons", says Rivera.
Peace members say they want to hold another town hall meeting with Chief of Police Richard Myers.
Mayor Rivera agreed to the idea, but doesn't fully agree with the protesters claims.
"I think our police department acted professionally from the eyewitness accounts that I have seen and read", says Rivera.
Also at Tuesday's meeting, protesters asked the city to train their officers on how to deal with peace activists, so that what happened at this year's parade, never happens again.
