Warm march temperatures could be the cause of death of a climber who was killed in an avalanche Saturday.
Chaffee County Sheriffs say they've recovered the body of Kyle Fitzpatrick of Colorado Springs. He was killed while climbing La Plata Peak.
A spokesman for the Colorado Avalanche Information Center says
mountain temperatures have been in the 50's, which is very unusual for this month. The warm weather is creating unstable snowpack.
