Colorado has lost more than 115,000 jobs since the recession started, making it number two in the nation for percentage of jobs lost.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Colorado lost 5.1% of all its payroll jobs from March 2001 through January 2004.
The only state that did worse was Massachusetts, which lost
5.9% of its jobs.
Colorado Democratic Party chairman Chris Gates says the news
will be a huge issue in upcoming elections.
Republican Senator Wayne Allard says the recession would have
been worse without President Bush's tax cuts.
