He ran back inside for a fire extinguisher and put out the blaze, but one of the dogs was already dead. The animal had been burned beyond recognition. Both dogs' muzzles and legs were also bound with duct tape.

The surviving black lab puppy was taken to an animal hospital to be treated for burns. Police say whoever is responsible could face animal cruelty charges.
