A teenage driver is accused of hitting and killing a volunteer firefighter from Penrose. The 17 year old boy is charged with careless driving causing death. His name has not yet been released.
Authorities say the boy's vehicle hit and killed 32 year old Mike Lynch as he was directing traffic around an accident on U.S. Highway 50.
The state patrol says drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident.
Lynch is survived by his wife and two young children.
