Police are drumming up leads and looking for suspects in an early Saturday morning shooting that killled one woman and served as a rude awakening for some neighbors.

It happened at the Bronze Tree Apartments on the Hancock Expressway near Circle Drive. Police were called at 4:40 a.m. on a report of shots fired and found the woman dead in her doorway.

Resident Alan Gallegos says he was home last night but didn't see or hear anything unusual.

"I really didn't hear anything. I was just watching TV. I mean I heard a party going on earlier but I didn't pay no mind to it. I was used to that."

By the time medical personnel arrived, the woman was already dead. Police interviewed friends of the victim but say they have no suspects.
But they also don't think this was a random act of violence.

Alan Gallegos says while the murder is disturbing it won't force him to move out.

"It doesn't really scare me none. I'm used to it. I've grown up around this."
