Former Georgetown Mayor Stays Out of the Spotlight

Stripper-turned-Georgetown mayor Koleen Brooks says she is turning down a request to be a spokeswoman for Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Ralph Shnelvar.

She says she is refusing to demean herself. Shnelvar says some of his requests that offended Brooks were meant as a joke and he has since apologized. Shnelvar says he needs the media attention that Brooks can bring to his campaign.

Brooks gained national attention after being accused of flashing her breasts in public and trying to hire a hit man to kill a policeman. After a year in office, she was ousted as mayor in a recall election in April.

Brooks still faces trial in November for allegedly fabricating an attack on herself and tampering with evidence.
