Authorities in Colorado Springs have an art heist to investigate.

Investigators say someone walked off with four paintings done by students at the Cottonwood Artists' School.

The works were hanging in the lobby of the Antlers Hilton hotel downtown.

There doesn't appear to be any specific style targeted by the thief.

Two paintings are small, two are large.

One is a still-life, one's a landscape, and two are abstract.

Kay Jeansonne -- one of the victimized artists -- says there's a joke circulating among painters in the show: The artists who weren't selected by the thieves are reportedly insulted, she says.

The paintings are valued at between 800 and two-thousand dollars each.
