Sheriff's investigators today recommended two felony charges against owners of three pit bulls that killed an Elbert County horse trainer.
The Elbert County Sheriff's Office presented its investigation and arrest affidavits to prosecutors for review and recommended charges of criminally negligent homicide and unlawful ownership of dangerous dogs against Jacqueline McCuen and William Gladney.
Investigators say 40-year-old Jennifer Brooke was attacked and killed on November 30th on her property when she went outside to feed her horses. The dogs later attacked a man before they were shot to death.
McCuen says she kept the dogs in a fenced area and didn't know they could be vicious.
