Colorado State Troopers are investigating a crash that happened Monday night around 11:15 in Huerfano County, about six miles north of Walsenburg.

Troopers say a bus was going south on I-25, when a pickup tried to turn north on I-25 in the southbound lanes when it traveled into the path of the southbound bus.The bus collided with the pickup, spinning it off the highway and into the median. The bus came to a stop in the right lane of the highway.

Troopers say seven of the bus occupants were transported to a hospital in Walsenburg. All seven occupants were treated for minor injuries and later released.

Troopers say the pickup was being driven by 23-year-old Emmet Bauer of Ft. Carson. His passenger was 21-year-old Benjamin Dowling, also of Ft Carson. Both Dowling and Bauer suffered serious injuries in the crash and were taken to a local hospital, their condition is not known.

Troopers believe alcohol was a contributing factor in this crash.
