A student at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs is accused of trying to pass counterfeit money.
Police arrested the 17-year-old boy after he passed the bill at a gas station on Saturday. He allegedly tried to pass a fake bill at the same store two days later, but store employees refused.
Officers responded Monday to a report that two students were drunk at the school, and realized one of the boys was a suspect in the counterfeiting case. Police say they found a fake 20-dollar bill in the teen's wallet.
The boy was later treated at a hospital for a forehead injury, suffered when he started banging his head against a cage in the patrol car.
The teen's name is NOT being released.
