A legislator thinks moving the State Fair from Pueblo to Loveland would give the financially struggling event a boost.
Republican Senator Steve Johnson of Fort Collins believes attendance would jump if the fair were closer to the state's main population center.
The Legislature has subsidized the fair at more than $2 million the last few years.
Johson concedes moving from the State Fair from southern Colorado wouldn't be easy. He expects people in Pueblo---in his words---to "go ballistic" over the idea.
