After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The main impact will be the cold along with winds gusting up to 40 mph at times. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Pueblo County sheriff's officials have completed an internal review of how two inmates escaped from the county jail last month.
The review concluded that structural flaws and inattention by detention deputies were to blame.
Sheriff Kirk Taylor says three deputies were reprimanded after the escapes January 10th.
He says county maintenance crews are fortifying possible escape routes.
Scott Gomez and Oscar Mercado, both 21, were believed to have escaped by entering the jail's duct system in a shower, following it to the roof, and descending by using bed sheets.
Both men were caught within hours.
Jail employees have since been instructed to stagger their breaks to better supervise inmates.
