Colorado Springs firefighters say a 3-alarm fire on Stanton Street destroyed one home, and spread to 2 others, before they were able to gain control.
The fire started at 1185 Stanton, in a neighborhood near the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. The first 9-11 call came in 6:28 Wednesday night. Crews arrived on scene 7 minutes later.
Besides the flames, fire fighters battled freezing temperatures, ice and snow. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries due to falls in the ice, but none of the homeowners were injured.
