A Pueblo West Middle School student is being suspended from school after he allegedly brought a gun to the building this week.
Assistant Superintendent Ed Smith says another student told a bus driver that the suspect had a gun in his backpack Wednesday afternoon.
The driver notified the principal and the bus was evacuated.
Officials say a pellet gun was found in the student's bag, but it's NOT clear if it was loaded.
The name, age and grade of that student are NOT being released.
The school district's policy mandates that students caught with a weapon -- or a fake -- may face expulsion.
