If anyone ever asks Delavane Diaz "What are you ... a Rhodes Scholar?", she can possibly say "yes".
That's because the Air Force Academy senior is among 32 U.S. college students selected for a Rhodes Scholarship for 2004.
The cadet from Florida is the second woman ever to hold the top position of Wing Commander at the Academy, putting her in charge of four thousand cadets.
Diaz is getting her degree in astronautical engineering with a minor in Spanish. She's also been named M.V.P. for2 years running on the Academy's varsity volleyball team.
The Rhodes Scholarship provides 2 to 3 years of study at the University of Oxford in England.
