Colorado has been hit pretty hard and early by the flu this year and, today, it hit even harder.
A 15 year-old has been the first person to die from the disease in the state.
The teen's name or gender has not been released, but the Colorado Health Department says the teen died at Children's Hospital in Denver.
Last year, the state tallied nearly 750 deaths from the flu and pneumonia.
Every year, about 36 thousand people die from it nationwide.
The CDC says Colorado has the second worst outbrek in the nation behind Texas.
