Tourism experts say Colorado could be in for its best holiday season in three years.

The travel Web site Travelocity says Denver is #4 among U-S cities as a destination for Thanksgiving air travelers this year. Last year, Denver was #8.

Travelocity's editor-at-large says snowfall has a lot of people focusing on skiing in Colorado this year. Several Colorado resorts are planning to open this week, including Vail and Aspen. Christmas hotel bookings in Vail and nearby Beaver Creek are already up 24 percent over last year. Hotel bookings for December in Aspen are up 20 percent.

A spokesman for Frontier Airlines says planes are booked about 28 percent fuller than last year for the holidays.
