A semifinal football game will be played Saturday even though an ineligible student played on one of the high school teams.
An Arapahoe County judge refused to issue an injunction Friday, that would have postponed a Class Three-A semifinal game between Palisade and Mountain View high schools. The complaint was filed by officials at Fountain-Fort Carson High School---the team that lost to Palisade last weekend.
The dispute centered on an ineligible fifth-year senior kicker for the Palisade Bulldogs. Assistant Principal Matthew Diers confirmed the school used a kicker who shouldn't have been playing. Diers says the mistake was because of a clerical error.
Bert Borgmann, assistant commissioner of the Colorado High School Activities Association says the ineligible player will be pulled at the end of the season and that other penalties will follow.
Borgmann says the commission has never had problems with Palisade in the past.
