A US intelligence official says five to 10 people were killed in this week's attack on a target in southern Somalia.
The official says the target there was believed to be associated with the al-Qaida terrorist network. The official also said a small number of others at the targeted area, perhaps four or five, were wounded. The US is still trying to figure out who they are, which may require a mix of intelligence and getting personnel to the scene.
Pentagon officials strongly suggested that the US military is either planning or considering additional strikes in Somalia.
