The U.S. Department of Defense has released the name of the latest Fort Carson soldier to die in Iraq.
Staff Sergeant Dale Panchot was killed Monday near Balad, Iraq. Attackers fired rocket-propelled grenades at his Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
SSG Panchot was 26-years-old and was originally from Northome, Minnesota. He served with B Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
A memorial service at Fort Carson has not yet been scheduled. He is the 27th Fort Carson soldier to die while serving in Iraq.
