The Pentagon says it can neither confirm nor deny reports of a US airstrike in Somalia. But a government official, who didn't want to be identified, says the military launched a strike against several suspected al-Qaida members there. The official says at least one AC-130 gunship was used in the attack.
The airstrike was first reported by C-N-N, and C-B-S. The networks say the targets include al-Qaida operatives believed to be responsible for several terrorist attacks.
There's been no confirmation on whether the Air Force has killed either of its targets.
