Ten blocks of downtown Austin, Texas, are open again. But investigators remain unsure what caused some five dozen birds to die there.

Preliminary tests show no dangerous chemicals in the area. Officials say there's no public health threat.

The carcasses of the grackles, sparrows and pigeons are being tested. The birds were found overnight.

A Homeland Security spokesman says there is "no credible intelligence" that suggests a threat against Austin
