A wind gust of up to 115 miles-per-hour just south of Boulder is just among the reports of bad weather Monday morning that's causing problems for motorists, pedestrians, schools and businesses.
The National Weather Service reported the gust at the National Wind Technology Center about 2:30 Monday morning. Officials say many foothills locations reported gusts between 60 and 100 miles-per-hour earlier today.
More than 100 people found themselves stranded in cars and other vehicles in the Arvada area on Sunday, and Arvada West High School served as an emergency shelter.
Gusts of 89 miles-per-hour were recorded yesterday afternoon above the timber line in Boulder County, and gusts of 55 miles-an-hour were reported at Estes Park.
