A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. The parent company of Frontier Airlines and the union representing its pilots have tentatively agreed on a new four-year contract.
If approved, the contract would replace one that expired in May 2005.
Jeffry Thomas is president of the Frontier Airlines Pilots Association.
He says the deal makes significant improvements to retirement benefits and job protections. Those were key issues for the pilots.
Frontier President Jeff Potter says the agreement is a tremendous step forward for both the pilots and the company.
The union's board of directors has approved the agreement.
The pilots will vote on it next and a decision is expected by mid-February.
The union represents about 650 pilots.
