A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Several inches of accumulation will be possible in areas where these bands develop. For more information click the ‘Weather’ tab...
Colorado's Yule Quarry wants to give the Arlington National Cemetery a free $31,000 stone to replace the cracked Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. But the proposal is drawing criticism. It calls for carving a second replica of the hallowed tomb for a $1 Million visitors center and museum in Marble, Colorado.
Some believe the replica and for-profit museum would desecrate one of America's most sacred monuments. The secretary of the U-S Commission of Fine Arts, Charles Atherton, says the cemetery should add a stipulation to its agreement with the quarry that there will be no other copies of the tomb made. Arlington Cemetery Superintendent John Metzler Junior declined to comment on the quarry's plans.
