Sex, drug allegations could affect Haggard's writing career

Former megachurch leader Ted Haggard's career as an author could be on the line after he lost his pulpit and reputation last year amid accusations that he patronized a male prostitute and bought drugs.

Haggard has written 12 books, including ones counseling readers on marital faithfulness and warning against sexual activities such as pornography and prostitutes. They've been taken off the shelves at the bookstore at the New Life Church, which he founded 21 years ago in Colorado Springs.

He was fired as the church's senior pastor in November, and resigned as president of the National Association of Evangelicals.

Other booksellers are still selling Haggard's works, even though none has made it to the international Christian Bookseller's Association top 50 list.
