An Iraqi judge says Saddam Hussein will be executed by Saturday at the latest.

And lawyers in Jordan representing Saddam say he's no longer in U.S. custody. He was due to be turned over to Iraqi custody before his execution.

A judge on the appeals court that upheld the former dictator's death sentence says the execution will be Friday or Saturday.

He said, "All the measures have been done."

An Iraqi appeals court upheld Saddam's death sentence earlier this week for the 1982 killing of 148 people in the northern city of Dujail. The court said the former president should be hanged within 30 days.
