The Air Force Academy is changing its policy on forcing sexual assault victims to identify themselves.
The new policy allows victims to remain anonymous while the Academy pursues criminal cases against their accused attackers.
That policy reverses the Air Force Academy's previous position. The Board of Visitors announced the decision at its annual meeting.
The BOV is acting as an oversight panel for the scandal. Academy officials hope the new policy will make it easier for victims to come forward.
