Skiers May Get "Blacked Out"

(Breckenridge-AP) -- The Breckenridge ski area may resort to ``blackout days'' to reduce crowding on the slopes. Those with season passes would have to buy a separate ticket on those days.

Blackout days are typically scheduled during peak skier days, such as holidays.

Other proposals to reduce crowding include creating a ``premium day''. Pass-holders could present their ski pass and pay an additional fee to ski.

Breckenridge officials say they want to make sure all skiers have a good experience. The ski area reported a record million and a half skiers last season -- making it the most densely packed resort in the country.
