Last week's storm left quite a mess all over Colorado. In Pueblo West however, the mess wasn't from the snow.
The high winds that came along with the blizzard brought millions of tumbleweeds along with it and piled them up in neighborhoods all over Pueblo West.
At some homes, tumbleweeds filled the entire backyards from the top of the roofs to the fence lines. Some areas saw tumbleweed drifts up to 12 feet high.
Metropolitan District Manager Don Sailing said fire crews have been out since last Friday collecting and burning the weeds. People living in Pueblo West who are able to do the burning themselves can request a fire permit to do so.
Those who cannot get out of their homes, or just don't have a place to safely burn the weeds, can call the Metro District at 547-9801.
