A woman is charged with careless driving, following the investigation into a three-car crash at the intersection of 26th street and West Highway 24 in Colorado Springs.
Nancy Spralding, 70, was driving a grey Honda SUV in the left lane when it collided head-on with a westbound red Nissan sedan that had stopped in the turn lane. The Nissan was also pushed into a third vehicle, a tan Ford minivan, which was waiting behind it.
All four of the people who were inside the three vehicles were able to walk away from the accident, but each was later taken to a hospital by ambulance for treatment. Two women who were in the red Nissan suffered the most serious injuries. One has a lacerated liver and the other suffered a back fracture.
Several lanes were closed for about an hour after the crash.
