Locally heavy rain will remain possible overnight, with any showers and storms. Areas likely to see additional heavy rain will likely be east of I-25 and along HWY 50 from Canon City eastward. The state says it will tow any vehicles abandoned during the storm by motorists stuck in today's storm.
The Colorado State Patrol says abandoned vehicles hamper emergency vehicles and hinder snow plows struggling to clear roads buried in up to two feet of snow in some areas.
Colorado State Patrol Master Trooper Ron Watkins says crews will try to leave towed vehicles in safe locations near where they were abandoned.
The emergency order is in effect until 2 p.m. tomorrow.
