The state says it will tow any vehicles abandoned during the storm by motorists stuck in today's storm.
The Colorado State Patrol says abandoned vehicles hamper emergency vehicles and hinder snow plows struggling to clear roads buried in up to two feet of snow in some areas.
Colorado State Patrol Master Trooper Ron Watkins says crews will try to leave towed vehicles in safe locations near where they were abandoned.
The emergency order is in effect until 2 p.m. tomorrow.
