The Focus on the Family ministry welcomed a Westminster family to its center with balloons and lunch because they helped the Colorado Springs-based ministry reach a milestone -- the 3-million-visitors mark.

John and Lisa Wiersma, their three children and a nephew were greeted by Focus CEO and President Jim Daly and other employees after they signed in at the visitor's center Wednesday.

The Wiersmas were in the area to visit the center and relatives in Manitou Springs. They say they are frequent listeners of Focus founder James Dobson's radio show, which reaches an estimated 1.5 million listeners daily.

Dobson moved the conservative evangelical group from California to Colorado Springs in 1991.
