An extreme stunt at the Royal Gorge left a base jumper dead Sunday.

The stunt was part of the "Go Fast Games," which have been going on all weekend at the popular tourist site.

Thirty year old Dwain Weston was part of the exhibition. He was supposed to jump off a plane and skydive over the bridge, and it's 150 spectators. As he descended, Weston hit the bridgehe hit the bridge and fell more than 1000 feet into the Arkansas River.

One witness says she saw him having trouble opening the parachute as he went down.

Search and rescue teams were called in to recover Weston's body.

This is the first time the Royal Gorge Bridge Park has ever held the "Go Fast Games."
