A strong cold front will move through Southern Colorado today. It will bring much colder temperatures (especially in the afternoon), strong wind, a few rain/snow showers, and blowing dust to Southern Colorado. Light snow accumulations and poor visibility will be possible for a time this afternoon and evening north of Colorado Springs and south/southwest of Pueblo. Blowing dust will be mostly likely on the Eastern Plains, where a Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect. Bottom-line, your Tuesday will feel (and look) a lot different than the past two days. Be prepared...
Colorado Springs fire investigators are working to determine the exact cause of a fire that displaced 17 people Saturday night.
The blaze was first reported around 9:30pm at the Citadel Village Apartments located at 913 Chelton Road. It took fire crews about 30 minutes to knock down the main body of the fire, which was completely under control in about an hour and a half.
At least two of apartments in the building were destroyed, and others suffered some smoke damage. Early estimates show damage to be around $60,000.
Firefighters say the cause appears to be accidential, but the investigation is continuing.
