State health officials say the danger of new West Nile infections from mosquito bites is over for this season.

State epidemiologist John Pape says mosquitoes that carry the virus have switched from blood to nectar meals as they prepare for winter.

Colorado had 42 West Nile deaths and 21-hundred-and-8 human
cases this year -- more than any other state. 21 new cases
were reported today -- but none was fatal and all were contracted
before September 21st.

All but two of this year's deaths were east of the Continental
Divide.
