Flu Season

The Australian bug is hitting people hard, and it's not just
affecting babies and the elderly who are described as the most
vulnerable.

In Colorado, 19 people died of influenza last year. Another 729
people died of pneumonia, which is a frequent complication of the
flu.

State health officials say the best time to get a flu shot is in
October and November, though December vaccines can be effective.
January is typically the peak month for influenza.

Experts say even for healthy people, the flu is usually a five-
or six-day ordeal with fever, muscle aches and malaise.
