Colorado Army Deserter Begins Speaking Tour Against Iraq War

For a wanted man, a 23-year-old soldier from Colorado Springs is keeping a remarkably high profile.

Private First Class Kyle Snyder has joined others like him on a West Coast tour to speak out against the Iraq war.

A warrant is out for his arrest, but the former combat engineer has been traveling the country by plane and by road, and his speaking dates are publicized ahead of time.

Snyder has been absent without leave from the Army since April 2005.

He surrendered in late October when his attorney said the military agreed he could be discharged without a court-martial, but went AWOL again when the Army said he'd be sent back to his unit.

Snyder says crowds are generally supportive, but critics sometimes suggest he should be shot.
