It’s costing a little more for Fourth of July travelers to fill up their gas tanks this holiday weekend.

The AAA is reporting the average price of unleaded gasoline rose two cents a gallon to $1.42 this week.

But that's still 25 cents lower than last year, when gas cost a $1.67 a gallon. The national average is $1.40.

Vail had the highest gas prices in the state at $1.70 a gallon followed by Glenwood Springs at $1.64. Colorado Springs came in with the lowest price -- $1.35.
