Even though it hasn't even opened yet, Confluence Park may be getting a new name.
Colorado Springs mayor, Lionel Rivera, wants to call the park "Olympic Park" to reflect the U.S. Olympic Committee's presence in the city for the past 25 years.
He also has proposed adding a walk of fame to the park, honoring Olympic gold medal winners, and a wall, recognizing other medalists and athletes.
The 30 acre park is currently taking shape northeast of I-25 and Cimarron.
