A steady stream of mourners is visiting the site where Officer Ken Jordan was gunned down late Monday night.

A makeshift memorial has arisen on Fountain Boulevard near Murray. Flowers, cards, and other items mark the spot.

Among those visiting the site are police officers, firefighters, and the general public. The wife of Officer Jared Jensen, who was killed in February, visited Wednesday morning to pay her respects.

Jordan's funeral is scheduled for Monday afternoon at New Life Church. The service is set to begin at 1:00 P.M. It will be carried live on 11 News, and streamed live on KKTV.COM.

Jordan was shot to death late Monday night as he approached a suspected drunk driver, 25-year old Marco Lee.

Lee was shot by another officer, and is listed in good condition at Memorial Hospital.

The suspect's stepbrother, DeAndre Barnes, tells The Gazette newspaper that 25-year-old Marco Lee said he loved his family, but was -- quote -- "tired of all this drama."

Moments later, a shootout left a Colorado Springs police officer dead, and Lee critically injured.

Lee had a MySpace account in which he talked about his affinity for firearms. Many of the photos on his MySpace page showed Lee carrying different guns, and he can be seen in one piece of video firing what appears to be a rifle.

The victim was providing backup for another officer who pulled over a suspected drunk driver shortly after eleven o'clock last night.

Police spokesman Mark Stevens says two officers approached the car and the driver opened fire.

The officer died a short time later at Memorial Hospital.

The suspect was hit several times and is listed good condition, and expected to survive.

Court records show Lee has had several run-ins with the law, including a 2006 arrest on charges of carrying a concealed weapons without a permit, which was dismissed by the District Attorney.

Police say that Jordan has been with the Department at least five years.

The officer's death marks the second for Springs police this year.

Officer Jared Jensen died in February after a man wanted for attempted murder allegedly shot him at a convenience store.

Thirty-one-year-old Jereme Lamberth is scheduled to enter his plea on a first-degree murder charge January 25th.

He's also expected to enter a plea to attempted murder for allegedly stabbing his own sister in the face.
