"No Call" Crackdown

Seven companies are already being ordered to stop violating Colorado's ``no-call'' list for telemarketers.

The companies include two based in Colorado. On Wednesday, Attorney General Ken Salazar all have agreed to comply with the law.

More than 790 thousand residents have signed up for the list designed to block most phone solicitors. It went into effect on Monday. Since then, at least 600 complaints have been filed.

Salazar says numerous investigations are underway. Telemarketers must pay up to 500 dollars a year for the list. Companies that call people on the list three or more times can be fined up to $2,000 per call.

To file a complaint or sign up for the no-call list, see the link on the front page of our website.
