The U.S. Senate has given approval to spending almost 113 million dollars to expand Fort Carson and other military facilities.
The House previously approved the spending but representatives of the House and Senate will now work on a final version of the spending bill.
Steve Wymer, press secretary for Senator Wayne Allard, says the bill could be signed into law by the end of the year.
Fort Carson is expected to get 10,000 more soldiers over the next few years. Army officials are scheduled to hold a meeting in Colorado Springs Wednesday afternoon to talk about the expansion.
