A vice president of the Colorado Springs-based ministry Focus on the Family will join a team of pastors overseeing the spiritual restoration of a popular minister.
H.B. London is Focus' vice president of church and clergy, who accepted an invitation from the Board of Overseers at New Life Church.
London said last week that Ted Haggard would face three to five years of intense counseling, prayer and rebuke from "godly men" while trying to overcome a gay sex and drug abuse scandal.
But London warned the process is effective only about half the time.
Focus Chairman James Dobson says he doesn't have the time to devote to the situation, but calls London an excellent choice.
Dobson says Haggard's care and restoration "could not be in more capable hands."
