The former anchor of the "CBS Evening News" is returning to television via the high-definition channel HD Net, which has dual headquarters in Denver and Dallas.
"Dan Rather Reports" debuts Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
Production for HD Net is handled in Denver, while the business matters are taken care of in Dallas. Rather, meantime, has a new office just a block from Times Square in New York.
And his audience? It won't be quite what he's used to.
H-D-Net is seen in just four million satellite and cable homes that receive media mogul Mark Cuban's new high-def channel. His "CBS Evening News" reached almost all of the country's 111 million television homes.
Rather departed in June after 44 years with CBS News.
