Iraqi police and military report finding 75 bodies Sunday.
Security forces found 25 bullet-riddled, handcuffed bodies dumped in several parts of Baghdad. Another 50 bodies were found behind the offices of an electric company in Baqouba, northeast of Baghdad.
The discoveries came on the same day a pair of suicide bombers targeted a crowd of would-be police recruits in Baghdad, killing at least 35.
And in the holy city of Najaf, three sons of a prominent Iraqi Shiite leader were killed by a bomb outside their home.
Also Sunday, the US military announced the deaths of three soldiers in fighting in Anbar province. That raises the toll of American troops killed this month to 29.
Four British servicemen were killed and three injured in an attack in the southern city of Basra.
