Arab diplomats say the Palestinian foreign minister has accepted an Arab proposal for a peace conference to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The diplomats say Foreign Minister Mahmoud Zahar endorsed a statement by Arab foreign ministers calling for the peace conference during a meeting in Cairo.
The diplomats spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Earlier, Arab countries decided to lift the financial blockade on Palestinians. The move was in response to yesterday's US veto of a UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip.
Eleven Arab foreign ministers and other senior officials and diplomats attended today's meeting at the Cairo headquarters of the Arab League.
